The author had a very clear vision for this cover from the beginning. She wanted to feature a golden castle rising from the sea, surrounded by cliffs, with a small pathway and boat leading toward it, all framed by an ancient arch.
Lightning crossing the starry sky was another essential element, with each detail intended to hint at a different aspect of the magical system within the world of Shandiin. My goal was to bring together all of the author’s symbolic elements in a way that felt immersive, magical, and visually cohesive.
