This project is a character-driven packaging design concept for PIEZO premium extra virgin olive oil. The presentation includes a full bottle mockup, a flat wraparound label design, and several alternate concept directions developed during the exploration phase.
The client was looking for a visual identity that felt clean yet playful, using an olive green and black color palette to communicate both quality and affordability. They were especially drawn to a character-led approach, as well as subtle references to Greek culture, reflecting the origin of the olives used in the product.
In response, I explored a range of mascot concepts and emotional directions, testing how the experience of tasting olive oil could be translated into character design. After several iterations, we selected a close-up olive character that felt playful, approachable, and memorable.
The final design combines a matte black bottle with bright green and olive-toned graphics, creating strong contrast and modern shelf appeal. At the center of the identity is a cheerful illustrated olive mascot that gives the product a distinctive personality while still preserving a premium feel. Supporting illustrations of olives, leaves, and ingredient-inspired details help reinforce the Mediterranean origin story and add warmth to the overall design.
